Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Nothing wrong with Sanders staying in another few weeks

or even until the end of the primaries. Clinton did that in 08. He should get out as soon as the primaries are over and not wait until the convention as he did in 16. That is all!

1. Clinton and Obama were less than 1% point apart.

I'm OK with it too. It will only hurt his movement. The rest of the states are even harder for him. It would be the biggest defeat in history and he will have no bargaining power.

2. Clinton was still in race. Both primaries, Sanders is no longer viable and uses it to beat up

our candidate. Yes, as we saw in the past, there is a problem with Sanders staying in the race, namely, Sanders.

As of today, Biden's lead is bigger than at any time for either candidate in 2008.

If he withdraws now, it will be much easier for them to eventually support Biden.

She's their favorite Democrat. She's so unpopular otherwise that she had to drop out of her Congressional reelection since she was going to lose the primary.

8. The next couple of primaries will be big wins for Biden which would hurt sanders and help Joe

sanders not dropping out may help Biden. sanders keeps on losing primaries by large margins nnly strenghten's Joe's position https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/03/11/no-surprise-bernie-sanders-is-still-all-about-himself-never-party/

Sanders’s remaining in the race should serve several salutary purposes for the party and the country. First, seeing him lose overwhelmingly week after week will dispel the notion that the Democratic Party has moved left, or that he is in a dominant position to negotiate with the overwhelming winner. It’s not clear why the Biden camp should “give” Sanders anything.

Second, it is good to keep Biden in fighting form, continuing to boost turnout and showing, as he did in Philadelphia, how presidential he is. Biden can pivot to the general election, essentially ignoring Sanders. (His planned speech on the coronavirus is the perfect opportunity to leave Sanders out of the discussion entirely.)....

Whoever is to replace Sanders as the standard-bearer for the left — hopefully someone as smart and wonky as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — will need to learn how to win elections. (Hint: It is not by scaring voters or attaching oneself to the socialist label.) When in office, a new generation of leaders on the left will need to learn the art of deal-making rather than waste years, as Sanders has, rabble-rousing but accomplishing nothing. Unlike Sanders, Warren (or whoever else takes the reins) will not be burdened by a record of reflexively praising dictators nor be driven to attack fellow Democrats.

Sanders will end the race at some point, a diminished figure. In retrospect, his wins in 2016 will be seen more as an anti-Hillary Clinton vote than a pro-Sanders vote. How he behaves at Sunday’s debate will determine whether he leaves a bad taste in the mouths of Democrats.

A meaningful exchange of ideas could be beneficial. But if after a couple weeks nothing has changed, I think Sanders should drop out, as much as it hurts. This time his ideas may be more respected if he doesn’t drag it out. Anything that helps those ideas is good.

blowing it. We fear that Sanders will reelect Trump by dragging out the primary. Sanders could help Trump get four more years with his attacks on the Party and Joe...and we have seen this movie before. As I have said before Sanders did the minimum to help Hillary in the General. Trump became president. And we fear he could be reelected.

IMO There is plenty wrong with him staying in past Florida, another state that he likely to lose by 40+ points. His only winning demographics appears to be Hispanics and 18-24 year olds who aren't voting in large numbers. That's not enough for him to even have a respectful showing. Does he even realize he's harming his movement staying in an losing by such wide margins in every area of the country.
