a revolution against our own party from within, he can still attack it from within. As we saw not just in 2016, but ever since. This is a continuation, as is Russia's assistance.

Btw, anyone remember summer of 2016, when we were in battle with Repub-Russia for the future of our nation? Sanders had lost but used his presidential candidate pulpit to claim the Democratic Party was soooo corrupt that it needed to halt the national campaigns and instead focus inward to root out everything wrong with us and rebuild our party. We were the big national emergency that had to be addressed before anything good could be accomplished.

Whatever this man's agenda was and is, it is not about keeping Trump out of the presidency and saving progressive liberal government from those determined to destroy it.

knew a better term. I don't like that one, but "one way low self esteem can manifest" doesn't quite get the idea across.

But the flip summary of a basic difference between RW and LW radicals/extremists by an expert in political extremism does: That RWers hate everyone else, while LWers hate themselves.

As you're noting, we see this being acted out all the time.

Think about the left...let's start in 2000...Nader and the left mercilessly attacked Gore...Sarandon was a busy bee (piece of crap) and Bush won...we get United (which the left caused and still has the nerve to complain),two wars, 9-11, Katrina and economic debacle...the GOP also gets judges who are going to overturn Roe I think. Next up Kerry who is beaten up in the primary and abandoned by the left...Michael Moore going around begging for folks to vote for Kerry after he savaged him in the primary...and then 2016 where Stein took enough votes to elect Hillary in the blue wall states and we get Trump, terrible judges, babies in cages...list is too long and now millions are likely to die...so I am sick of the left/Greens who don't vote for us and enable bastards like Trump ...they helped him win just as much as Republicans did .

We know that. Regardless of how he behaves or misbehaves.

And now millions of additional voters are moving to or returning Democrat to stop what's happening on the right. The kind who used to vote with us to keep extremism in check, before our national electorate was divided and conquered.

As for the small, dysfunctional fringe addicted to opposition to the Democratic Party, who flare eagerly with every lie and fake grievance thrown to them? The ones who cheered the attempt to illicitly steal the 2016 nomination and who promised this year to repeat 2016 in the GE? They love what they see of themselves in their leader.

Oh, well. Btw, the probability that our convention won't be a physical gathering they can act out at before dissipating has to be making some very unhappy.

sanders not dropping out may help Biden. sanders keeps on losing primaries by large margins nnly strenghten's Joe's position https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/03/11/no-surprise-bernie-sanders-is-still-all-about-himself-never-party/

Sanders’s remaining in the race should serve several salutary purposes for the party and the country. First, seeing him lose overwhelmingly week after week will dispel the notion that the Democratic Party has moved left, or that he is in a dominant position to negotiate with the overwhelming winner. It’s not clear why the Biden camp should “give” Sanders anything.

Second, it is good to keep Biden in fighting form, continuing to boost turnout and showing, as he did in Philadelphia, how presidential he is. Biden can pivot to the general election, essentially ignoring Sanders. (His planned speech on the coronavirus is the perfect opportunity to leave Sanders out of the discussion entirely.)....

Whoever is to replace Sanders as the standard-bearer for the left — hopefully someone as smart and wonky as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — will need to learn how to win elections. (Hint: It is not by scaring voters or attaching oneself to the socialist label.) When in office, a new generation of leaders on the left will need to learn the art of deal-making rather than waste years, as Sanders has, rabble-rousing but accomplishing nothing. Unlike Sanders, Warren (or whoever else takes the reins) will not be burdened by a record of reflexively praising dictators nor be driven to attack fellow Democrats.

Sanders will end the race at some point, a diminished figure. In retrospect, his wins in 2016 will be seen more as an anti-Hillary Clinton vote than a pro-Sanders vote. How he behaves at Sunday’s debate will determine whether he leaves a bad taste in the mouths of Democrats.
