Why Warren?

She is my choice for now for many reasons. Warren is a natural fighter. She takes on all comers. Thus far she is not attacking other Dems. She lost a campaign manager because she wouldn't take corporate money.

She was a Republican. That's huge for me. Her stances are clearly left of center, yet she can explain to voters why she evolved in a way Bernie cannot. She stands up to racism and McConnell chastised her and gave her a mantra to use "Nevertheless, she persistent". She was smart enough to stay out of the 2016 primary to keep the party she grew into united. That is extremely HUGE.

She has only entered politics late in her career in order to un-rig the system. I believe that is where she will win red states. Warren's responses to 2016 DT tweets were extremely satisfying. She is slowly but surely growing her support one idea at a time.

If not Warren, I will hope for growing strength of Mayor Pete and Beto. Just a gut feelings at this point. Inspiring. But Warren is helping build a movement with real growth potential. From today:

excitement and it doesn’t have her first name on it. I like her actual policies a lot and I believe she truly has spent time thinking this out. To me, she is very exciting, stable and motivated. Hope she’s not mad about the email, but I nearly deleted one from my inbox because I didn’t realise it was hers.

“Fight.” It’s the signature word of Senator Elizabeth Warren’s short but consequential political career.

It’s in the title of both of the books she has published as a senator: A Fighting Chance and This Fight Is Our Fight. In her speech declaring her presidential candidacy in February, Warren told the crowd, “This is the fight of our lives” and, “I’ve been in this fight for a long time.” Her 2020 campaign asks voters to “Join the Fight.” Kate McKinnon-as-Warren on “Saturday Night Live” explained, “That’s the only f-word I know.”

We took a tragic turn in 2015 when she didn't run and a noisy can't-do gadfly took advantage of the vacuum she left to rise far beyond his level of competence. And we're living with the consequences.

But 2020's coming fast, and we have what could be our last chance to rescue liberal progressive government from those determined to destroy it permanently. She's battling not just to stop them, but to use these terrible setbacks as great opportunity to advance us along the path we need to be on.
