I look at the recent polls of Sanders v Trump polls, if electability was an issue Sanders would have that problem and general election poll numbers tend to go down during the actual election. Case in point 2016. I wonder is it because some Americans are uncomfortable voting for a Socialist or they see Sanders as toxic like Trump.

Warren and Mayor Pete would lose to Trump.
Another problem with Sanders - way way way too old. What kind of ego does it take for a 79 year old to run for President!
Where are your taxes, Bernie?

(13,012 posts)As a generality, how is that possible? I mean, in a head to head matchup, if one candidate's numbers go down, the other's goes up.
Anyway, the biggest problem with national polls (is this what this was?) is that the popular vote doesn't tell you who wins. We don't need to know who gets more votes than who nationwide... we need to know who gets more votes in specific states that are in play.
