1. That Is Straight Up, Sir, Isn't It?

Not some foolery of the day....

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

9. To have a voice & for the same reason some D candidates only 'suspended' their campaign
Wed Apr 1, 2020, 03:20 PM

Sanders has a narrow path to victory- for about 6/7 D candidates who suspended (not quit!) their path is even narrower but it is there. November is a long way away.

plus everyone hasn't had their primary vote yet. USA has such a crappy election system but it is what it is.

10. 'Suspending' a Campaign, Ma'am
Wed Apr 1, 2020, 03:22 PM

Is simply a legal fiction, which allows solicitation of funds to pay off debts of the campaign committee. It does not indicate people are reserving the right to resume campaigning in some hypothetical eventuality.

My state's primary has not happened and it will all be over long before it does. My voice has been silenced! Oops, no it hasn't, it's just been overwhelmed by millions and millions of other, equally valid voices.

Contrary to BS's belief, it's not all about him going out in a blaze of glory.

8. That Is Really Not Quite True, Ma'am

Everyone has the right to vote in the general election.

Primaries are affairs of a private organization, which could change its rules if it chose. If the party chose, for instance, to select delegates to the convention by a slating committee, or by nomination at a state convention to which only people elected to office as Party members, or who held a position in the Party organization, were invited, there would not be the slightest recourse. Even in states where a primary is mandated or supervised under state law, nothing obliges the Party to abide by its results.

Be sure that is not sarcasm. I know there was danger involved, and in future primaries, and in the general election, danger may be greater.

Evidently we do not agree in some matters, but I do wish you well, and am glad you did not come to harm.

Quite often here in my red county, people run unopposed. Thus, there is not only no primary for that particular position, there is also no general.

Quite often, only one person runs for a position in a certain party. Thus, there is no primary for that particular position.

Also, wasn't Team Bernie criticizing Team Biden for encouraging voting in the last primary several weeks ago? Some claimed Biden was committing genocide by doing so. Now, when things are even worse, voting in the Democratic presidential primary has to happen? Even though it is painfully obvious Bernie has no chance?
