Biden: I will wear a mask in public

Joe Biden said he will wear a mask in public, drawing a contrast between President Donald Trump and himself amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s important to follow the science. Listen to the experts. Do what they tell you,” he said on ABC’s “This Week." "So if I go out in public — and I haven't gone to commercial places of late, I haven't gone to my local church, etc. ... My generic point is, you should follow the science.“

On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that people wear nonsurgical, cloth face coverings when in public.

“We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals ... can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity — for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing,” CDC said in a statement. - Politico

Already there, Joe.

Good man. Lead by example.

Note: Didn't realize Sanders was still contesting the democratic primaries, so therefore, this is not LBN, but rather primary news.

Unlike that orange idiot squatting in our White House, Joe Biden believes science and can actually do math.

Kudos on your note --- some people in this forum need to realize just how thoroughly people have moved on from any consideration of 'Bernie'....

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

Biden is not, and will not be interacting with the public. The recommendation is only for those people interacting with the public. Biden is guarded by the Secret Service and they limit who can get close to him. Anyone close to him is tested.

to impede spreading the virus. I wore mine on the bus yesterday and in the store.. it was a homemade thick tea towel folded 3 times. It was harder to breathe but worth it.

I read something about masks here that was inspiring.. You are showing people you're conscientious and you care that you're not infecting anyone. It reminds people too.. that there is a silent, invisible deadly virus out there.

This has shades of "Kerry windsurfs!", "Dukakis in a tank!". Sometimes our candidates have a knack for looking foolish at inopportune times.
