Bernie Sanders' campaign manager is pushing him to end his 2020 run

"A small group of Bernie Sanders's top aides and allies — including his campaign manager and his longtime strategist — have encouraged the independent senator from Vermont to consider withdrawing from the presidential race," the newspaper reported, citing "two people with knowledge of the situation."

The group reportedly includes longtime strategist Jeff Weaver, campaign manager Faiz Shakir, and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).

"Sanders himself has become more open to the prospect of dropping out, according to one of the people with knowledge of the situation and another close ally, especially if he suffers a significant defeat in Tuesday's Wisconsin primary, which polls suggest Joe Biden will win handily," The Post reported.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), however, is reportedly urging him to continue his bid.

2. This is encouraging.

"Sanders himself has become more open to the prospect of dropping out, according to one of the people with knowledge of the situation and another close ally, especially if he suffers a significant defeat in Tuesday's Wisconsin primary, which polls suggest Joe Biden will win handily,"

Unfortunately it sounds like we wont have any results released from tomorrow's vote in WI until next week.

7. How does Bernie Sanders change a light bulb?

He holds it in the socket and waits for the world to revolve around him.

11. That, Sir, Is A Thing Of Beauty

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

6. If he's thinking of doing what he did last time, he'll wait long enough so that he can ask for....

.....an extension on his final Senate financial report and then, after Biden is officially declared the nominee he'll say it's no longer necessary to file.

In 2016 he requested two such extensions, the second one falling a few days after the close of the convention.

But the DNC threw a monkey wrench in it this year by postponing the convention. He may not be able to get extensions beyond the convention in August.

8. For those interested

Tlaib, who led a crowd in booing Hillary Clinton earlier this year, has a primary opponent for anyone who would like to donate.

9. I voted for Bernie.

But, at this point, he doesn't stand a chance of winning. Dropping out is the only thing left to do, sadly. It was great while there was hope for his more to the left policies, but it's pretty much over now. I will be voting for the nominee to vote AGAINST Trump even though I have major problems with some of Biden's past.

I'm pretty much voting against Trump more than anything at this point. There is no chance of Sanders winning now. I don't know why he is still running.

10. Saw "Rep. Rashida Tlaib..." and my teeth went into gritted mode.

She's the one who thought it'd be fun to boo Hillary. And she exhorted the crowd at that event to join her. Ha Ha Ha, isn't that funny.

NO, Rashida. It ISN'T funny. And NEITHER ARE YOU.

I'm never EVER sending her another campaign nickel. Never again. And I'm not gonna forget.

15. I just saw a friend with sanders profile. She goes back and forth, but now is back with Sanders.

He has lost. No chance. And still pumping the people to think there is still a race and asking for money. It is unconscionable.

Staying in the race delays that process and encourages wild ass conspiracy theories.

18. From A Sensible Perspective, Ma'am, Yes, They Are

Sanders quite likely considers, in all sincerity, that defeating Trump requires the 'Democratic Establishment' first be overthrown. So by continuing to attack and undermine the Democratic Party, Sanders is by his lights doing everything in his power to defeat Trump.

19. They probably have new jobs they want to move on to. These are not

exactly the kind of principled people who'd think it's time to serve their nation by electing Democrats.

Some we know think electing Trump put them closer to national collapse and revolution. They're way too close to right but outrageously wrong in imagining they'd be the ones who'd grab power. Some are just agents for hire, though must be a true-believer extremist or two in there.

But in any case, if no one will hire them, some can always set up PACs and raise money to pay themselves and publicize their names. They know full well how to do that and who to sucker the money from. And the sooner the better. Right now their efforts are invested in Sanders' end times and whatever he plans to do with the money next, not in themselves.
