Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Tue Apr 7, 2020, 10:52 AM

I'm really curious about something.

I'm not trying to be snarky, or cast aspersions, or anything. I'm just really curious.
How can 48% of the people on this site still be "undecided" when it comes to our candidate in November? Are you expecting a white knight of some kind? I can really understand Bernie supporters staying loyal to him, but I'll be damned if I can figure out the "undecided" voter. This is DEMOCRATIC Underground folks. Or do we have THAT many trolls here?
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. I think many people just don't participate in the Primaries forum

and just automatically receive the designation "undecided."

5. Many of the undecided probably came into this forum

early on, did not make a choice of candidate, and then left almost immediately and did not return. We see few "Undecideds" actually participating in the discussions, so my assumption is that most are not active in the forum.

A few "Undecided" participants, however, are probably making a futile attempt to hide their actual preference. That trick never works.

8. This makes the most sense to me.

If they aren't in this forum, they don't see what they picked, so they wouldn't think to change it.

7. It's not that they are undecided

They just can't be bothered with clicking the links to change the Biden support picture.

9. For The Primary, I AM Independent Of The Remaining Candidates

My preferred choice being out of the race. However, for the general election, I am fully decided to vote straight Democratic Party all The Way.

10. I kept the "undecided" on my profile

for a really long time because I hadnít really decided....for real. Montana doesnít get to vote in the primary until June! When Amy and Elizabeth left the race, I switched to Biden. I also kept the ďundecidedĒ even when Iíd narrowed it down to avoid the ire of certain members who just seem to enjoy stirring the pot based on a personís candidate preference and a comment they might make.

13. Some of them might not want to invite

any bullying. They may honestly be afraid of bullying. Primaries on DU are notoriously ruthless, ya know. I didn't officially pick someone and let it be known for a while after starting back posting on here after a long ordeal kept me away for a long time.

Maybe some just believe in keeping their vote private to avoid people thinking less of them for who they agree with most within the party. I mean, the primaries are about picking someone from within the party.

Why the bullying and why the hate? There should be no hate for who they pick in the primaries, but everyone likes to pack up and attack those who like the less popular (on DU) candidates. I know a lot of Warren supporters were/are absolutely hated on here. Sanders supporters are despised to the nth degree and have been since Day 1. Between the two of them and Kamala Harris, those were the main ones I liked best. Not everyone wants those kinds of hateful accusations and rhetoric thrown their way because they like the candidates that moderate and conservative Democrats hate. Moderate and Conservative Democrats on this site have always gone above and beyond to attack Liberal Democrats. Back in the day, the moderates and conservatives were the ones who hated us gays the most too. Outright told us to STFU about wanting rights. It was what most of us who are gay on here heard for the longest time. That is partially why so many left the place. The other part is that some straight mods accused us of being violent for wanting to start a silent thread on Stonewall. Other straight mods were on our side, but many of us got tombstoned for trying to protest the false accusation of violence.

So, the simple answer to your question, no bones about it is: Believe it or not, most people do not like to be bullied. Mostly, it is the bullying.

14. Undecided here. I don't love any of the candidates and want whoever is the choice of the

party to have been vetted ruthlessly on their way to the nomination. While I do have preferences, each one is problematic to me in their own way, so I've felt it's dishonest to pick any of them over any others before the nomination in this DU format.

15. I am supporting Biden now

And will vote for him in my June primary. My preference status, however, will remain as undecided simply because of demands like this and the obnoxious behavior of many people on this forum. You dont have to choose a candidate to participate in this forum.

I guess they're just not participating in our Forum Preference selection or haven't made up their minds yet?
