Beware of Republicans Claiming Support for a Democratic Candidate

So, some Republican says he or she likes Bernie or some other Democratic candidate. What does that mean, exactly? Mostly it means that person thinks the Democrat they "like" would have less chance of defeating Trump in a General Election. Of course they'd like to have that candidate as the Democratic nominee.

Such praise is simply bullshit. They wouldn't vote for the person they "like." They just like the idea that that candidate probably would not win in November. Republicans like Republicans, not Democrats. Simple.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

are unwilling to recognize that such "praise" by Republicans is just a ruse.

If Bernie Sanders wins the nomination, the very same people will turn and scream "Socialist!" at him again and again.

Right now, there is far too much willingness to accept what Republicans say. When I ask myself why that is, I don't like the answer very much at all.

That's probably the only thing I have against Bernie is the ability to overcome the Socialist scarlet letter in a national election. Especially against a nasty opponent like tRump. All we'll hear about is the red tide coming to overtake our government and how we'll be like Venezuela and Cuba and the media will go right along. It won't matter if there is a D after his name.

That's all. There are no Republicans who want a Democrat as a President. None. What they want is to sow discord and discontent. It's just FUD.

desperate to find an alternative to trump. Namely, Rick Wilson, Nicole Wallace, Jennifer Reuben and David Jolly-ish, Joe Scarborough, Cheri Jacobus, Ana Navarro, Richard Painter, Rick Tyler-ish and William Crystal-ish. The *ish denotes, maybe they have an agenda I haven't detected yet.

They seem desperate. Scarborough is definitely never trump. He trashes trump every single day and writes cutting anti-trump opeds for WAPO. That doesn't mean that if a republican with a realistic chance to unseat trump emerges he won't go with the republican..

Then Trump insulted Mika's face, and that was the last straw. So Scarborough seems to have messed up priorities to me.

So perhaps that accounts for my skepticism of Scarborough more than anything else. But Scarborough in particular I don't trust. When an actual Democrat runs against Trump, are you sure he will back the Democrat no matter what? Or will he say the Democrats picked the wrong person, so we "have to" vote for Trump because the Democrats are so stupid? Or maybe he'll encourage Schultz to run?

Any kudos from Republicans towards any of our candidates should raise a red alert. The flattering Bernie comments from Coulter and Rove are beyond obvious; they've marked Sanders as an easy target for 2020. The idea that they're ready to jump on the socialist train is ludicrous.

This is not rocket science. And if we can't see the sudden admiration for what it is, we should be shot.

I would qualify that as Republicans that express/or have expressed support for Trump. Many of the Never Trumpers voted for Dems in 2018 and would vote for a moderate in 2020 (would vote 3rd party over Trump otherwise). Though one could argue how many of those Never Trumpers actually still consider themselves Republicans.

Just yesterday, I saw John Kasich commenting very supportively about Joe Biden and saying many Republicans would vote for him. I've also seen Michael Steele (former RNC chair) and Rick Tyler (GOP strategist) in the past couple of days talk up Biden. I doubt you want people to now think that Biden would be a bad candidate for 2020.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
