Regular oversight hearings do not give authority to Congress to obtain grand jury info. Only formal impeachment proceedings can do that.

Per the Washington Post:

Significantly, the appeals court decision several days ago reaffirmed that exception. All three judges agreed that an impeachment inquiry falls within the “exception for judicial proceedings” and “coheres” with other rulings about the proper scope of grand jury secrecy.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-full-mueller-report-could-be-released--if-the-house-opens-impeachment-hearings/2019/04/08/e47fff42-5a14-11e9-a00e-050dc7b82693_story.html

Trump welcomed a Russian attack on our country in order to gain office, then obstructed our Justice Department, sacking an AG and an FBI Director, in order to stop the investigation into that attack. This is horrifically worse than Watergate. We must expose this behavior in the context of a formal impeachment investigation because only that properly shows the seriousness of the conduct.

You do an oversight hearing on a cabinet secretary spending $40k of taxpayer money on a dining set for his office. You do an impeachment investigation hearing on a President who a Special Counsel found welcomed a Russian attack hacking our democracy, then tried to repeatedly to stop the investigation of that attack.

We must be on record as impeaching a president who commited these grave, treasonous crimes.  Elizabeth and Kamala get that. So does Lawrence Tribe. And the list keeps growing.

Some people REALLY getting pissed off that anyone would *DARE* to point out that her position on an issue *STINKS*. Tough shit. Allowing the cops to seize people's trucks and livelihood before conviction sucks, and al the bullshit about it being 'anti-gang' is crap when you look at how it is actually used.

I want to hear her say 'My Views have changed and I do *NOT* support any freezing or forfeiture before a GUILTY verdict".

There is no way anyone can morally support such a sleazy endeavor.

She's good, I'd still vote for her in the general, but if you find your candidate on the same side of an issue near and dear to the hearts of fascists as Jeff Sessions, somebody has problems.

Right now we in the US have tonask who are we-and we are better than this.

When we wake up worried it is not about party. It’s about similar things. While we’re being divided she doesn’t buy it. We need a leader who understands what we have in common.

have a good hard look at the re-runs and figure out a way to communicate that is more immediate. I feel like youtube got left on autoplay and I'm listening to a TED talk.

I want her to do well. I'm not so sure she's got what it takes yet. But look at Elizabeth - she is where Kamala is now 4 years ago. Great intro though.

has got to go. It doesn't work well when another candidate has been very blunt and specific on the same topic.

my feedback for her was she used the phrase "we need to have that conversation" too many times. She needs to say things like "we need to work with congress for legislation to do X, and i will be pushing them to do so." When i hear a politician say "we need to have a conversation about X" what i hear is them saying "i don't want to talk about X", the exact opposite.
