(11,940 posts)I hope he hits the jackpot today and just keeps going up like a rocket, taking one (or several) of our other awesome candidates with him!

(10,848 posts)On both replies. Not terribly surprising and yes, I think people were waiting for the official announcement. We can see the change even here on the DU board with Biden shooting up in preference %'s.
A good day, methinks!

(11,686 posts)numbers were going to drop as soon as he made an official announcement. Does this mean some those who wanted him to run really did not want him to run? Were some of those people under the impression that if he ran he would destroy the chances of the Democrat party and just lied to make it look good and encourage him to run?
Sure looks to me the opposite is happening.

(10,848 posts)expectations in favor of someone else. We have a long way to go but today is a good measure IMHO that people are bone weary of the divisiveness, the ugliness and yearn to have the country to return to a even keel. Joe Biden's experience and knowledge will go a long way in returning us to basic norms, healing our alliances and setting new rules for our adversaries. Once that's in place, we can start moving forward on all the pressing issues of the day: healthcare, climate change, voter's rights, inequality, etc.
All those issues are vying for immediate attention. But none will be addressed without kicking the Trumpster and his nasty enablers to the curb. Right now, I'm convinced Biden can win this thing. And for me? That's number 1 priority so that we have the ability to get to work and get things done that so desperately need doing.

Yup, not too shabby for Day 1. Btw, I rechecked 538 and the endorsements have shot up again--to 75 points. Joe's on a roll at the moment.
