Joe Biden is putting his own spin on President Donald Trumps make America great again campaign slogan.
In an interview on ABCs Good Morning America, the former vice president said that his motto would be: Make America moral again.
Biden, who has not been shy about his intention to criticize Trump at the outset of his campaign, ripped into the president's handling of the country while in office.
"Make America return to the essence of who we are, the dignity of the country, the dignity of people, treating our people with dignity," Biden said. "End this God-awful, deliberate division thats being taken in order to separating people to aggrandize his own power."
Outlining a potential Biden presidency, the former vice president stressed that unity would be one of three major prongs.

(16,793 posts)Joe Biden is speaking truth to power. Standing up to the bully with the facts, speaking TO people, rather than AT them.
Joe will say that his 40 plus years of public service has been done with that dignity with mistakes made along the way. His humility, his humanity will win the day as he details his policy points and shows just how corrupt the Trump regime has been. Joe wants to restore this Republic not only for us, but for the rest of the world to look up to once again.
I know I am generalizing, but I give a shit about this country. It is pretty obvious Joe Biden does too.

(395 posts)If a candidates isn't attacking Trump much now then they will probably not go after him hard in the GE.
Also, it is a far more effective strategy in winning the primaries by aggressively attacking Trump. Just keep attacking and insulting Trump and he can't help himself and would eventually attack this candidate. This will gain more media attention. The harder the attack the more traction it will gain and Trump will eventually "blow up" and rage tweet or say something. This will make this candidate appear to be the established anti-Trump candidate. The candidate will get a boost in the polls and receive more donations. You ever noticed that once a Dem candidate starts to attack Trump they rise in the polls and collect more money. However, once they stopped attacking the bump slowly fades away.
Furthermore, by having more candidates attack Trump, it will hurt him more in the GE. For example, if all candidates keeps calling him a criminal. It will consciously or subconsciously associate Trump as a criminal to the general population and not just with the Democratic base. This has been a GOP trick that did with Hillary.
If the GE election is about issues only, the Democratic candidate should win easily. However, a lot of voters do not on issues despite what they tell pollsters. A lot of them vote for or against a person's personality, race, gender, appearance, feelings, etc. People like a candidate to stand up for themselves and also up to a bully.
