Good review of his speech. As you do, I he does use this same approach and manner in the debates. emmaverybo Jul 2019 #2

He covered all the bases while speaking directly to the recent controversy over busing, the segregatonists' brouhaha and the crime bill. He glanced over the bankruptcy bill, something that's certain to come up as the weeks/months go on. But judging from this speech and its reception, I don't think he'll have a problem defending his positions. He doesn't need to punch down but he does need to punch back on these issues, clearly, reasonably and without rancor. Exactly the way he did here.

He repeats this performance at the next debate he'll win. And maybe I'll sleep a little better at night.

Btw, I think another huge asset Biden has is his foreign policy experience. He mentions it here at the end--the shredded relationships with our allies vs Trump's embrace of dictators and tyrants. I'd like to see him emphasize how important that will truly be for the next president, how experience and geopolitical knowledge--the hands-on kind--is something he alone brings to the table. That experience will be critical to get us back on track. And he's the only candidate with those creds. That by itself is huge.

Thanks for putting this up, emmaverybo.

Also agree he is so fluent and experienced in foreign affairs and the whole geo-political situation
to consider in making policy. I am very impressed with him in this crucial area. And right. No other candidate has his knowledge. much less experience! Glad I could share this with you.
