"Moral Failure": Democrats Urge Biden to Change Gaza Policy

As the death toll of Palestinians killed by Israel's assault on Gaza approaches 30,000 and the United States vetoes a ceasefire resolution at the U.N. Security Council for the third time, the Biden administration's support for Israel has come under fierce criticism both around the world and in the U.S. In Michigan, which is a key battleground state and home to one of the largest Arab American populations in the country, a campaign is growing to vote "uncommitted" in next week's Democratic primary in protest of Biden's policies backing Israel. "We're not standing against anyone, but we're simply reaffirming our stance for humanity and for the basic tenets of human rights," says Democratic state Representative Abraham Aiyash, Michigan's highest-ranking Arab and Muslim leader. "The administration needs to change course in foreign policy in the Middle East in order to gain the trust of people who we have lost," says California Democratic Congressmember Ro Khanna, who says the U.S. must call for an immediate ceasefire and place conditions on aid to Israel.

As the war drags on, it looks lass and less like a case of Israel defending itself, and more and more like a right wing scheme to exile or kill as many Palestinians as possible. It's difficult to give Netanyahu unconditional support.

Because as soon as there's an alteration in support for israel, we all become antisemites. Our agreements made in the past no longer fit the conditions and this must change immediately.

I see this whole mess as part of the squeeze being put on the US and western countries to put leaders in impossible situations, like this one where a despot takes control and turns our good intentions into something that becomes the opposite and helps the despot.

EVERYTHING, EVERY THING is being weaponized against us, our laws, our social fabric... keep this in mind when shit like this rises up out of the mire.

As a general alternative to Democracy Now's typical anti-Democratic Party spin and a more specific warning against Amy Goodman's fronting for the deep pocket dirty tricks of her friends (and fellow millionaires) Neville Roy Singham and Jodie Evens.

Caveat lector.

=====================================

Who on earth could be friends with people like Neville Roy Singham and his wife Jodie Evans?

Why third party shill Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! of course.

Singham launders his funding of pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, anti-Biden "protests" through the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund which distributes "charitable donations" at the direct request of donors.

Funding

In 2019, The People’s Forum received $12 million through the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund, a donor-advised fund provider. This was not the first time the Forum received a hefty sum in this manner: it was given $4,400,000 in 2018 and $2,500,000 in 2017 through the Philanthropy Fund.

Pelosi protester faces felony charges over Gaza cease-fire demonstration

An activist affiliated with the anti-war group Code Pink is facing felony charges for causing damage around Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco residence during a Feb. 11 demonstration.

snip============================

Last month, Code Pink circulated a video showing Pelosi telling a Code Pink protester, “Go back to China, where your headquarters is.”

Pelosi was referring to a New York Times investigation that revealed extensive ties between Code Pink’s co-founder, Jodie Evans, and groups promoting the agenda of the Chinese Communist Party.

That exchange took place on Oct. 29, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the attack on Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, which left him hospitalized with severe injuries. The attacker, David DePape, told investigators he sought to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage.

----------------------------------------------------------------

According to a Code Pink blog post, the purpose of the October 29 protest was to "briefly hold Pelosi hostage."

A Code Pink spokesperson called the timing of the action to hold Speaker Emerita Pelosi hostage -- the one year anniversary of the hammer assault on Paul Pelosi by an assailant seeking to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage -- was an "unfortunate coincidence".

----------------------------------------------------------------

Personal life
Singham lives in Shanghai, China. He is married to Code Pink's Jodie Evans. Their wedding was attended by Amy Goodman, host of 'Democracy Now!.

You lost me at the first paragraph in the first link of that propaganda piece.

"The pro-Palestinian protests over the last month, where tens of thousands in the U.S. have chanted for the end of Israel, are not merely a story of organic rage. "

Progressives are asking/demanding the end of the merciless slaughter of innocent Palestinians, Netanyahu's government is literally starving hundreds of thousands of children to death.

We don't need any pro or anti Israeli propaganda to understand evil when we see it.

We're capable of thinking for ourselves, you go ahead and stay in that corporate media bubble if you like, because it is sort of comfortable, but at this point, evil; is all this ongoing slaughter is.

Whether it's covered or not.

Caveat read

Democracy Now journalism supported by viewers like you.

If one wants to know what's going on in the world, Democracy Now is an excellent resource.

If you believe all of life should be a soap opera while critical issues are all but ignored as the planet heads toward environmental catastrophe, then the corporate media is your cup of tea...or perhaps Sominex.

Even Al Gore recognized the journalistic dysfunction of the corporate media; being held in too few hands.

That's why he started Current T.V. to begin with and he didn't have any qualms about selling it to Al Jazeera.

Major Information sources held in too few hands can only have a dumbing down affect to the average American as their perspectives on the world are diminished.

That's how we got *rump in the first place, he is a corporate media creation, and how long would anyone have to be around *rump to know he was never fit for office!?

Is that the best the corporate media can do?

Democracy Now! did its utmost to platform and promote third party spoilers in both 2000 and 2016. As anti-Democratic Party agents, they played their role and did their part to elect both Bush and Trump. Democracy Now! in general (and Amy Goodman in particular) need to take responsibility and apologize.

-----------------------------------------------

And I'll thank you not to make assumptions about me or "people like me".

"People like me" don't fund anti-Democratic Party-propaganda media outlets.

People like me" work hard every single cycle to elect Democrats. It doesn't make it any easier when, in addition to having to counter ridiculous Fox news narratives when talking to voters, we also have to address targeted propaganda promulgated by Democracy Now!.

One good thing about the corporate media, you don't need to know how to mentally swim in order to watch it, just wade in.
