The New York Times reports Trump met with Elon Musk and other donors with Trump reportedly "seeking a cash infusion" to support his campaign. This apparent meeting took place on Sunday with the group and the reporting is based on three people who were briefed on the meeting.

MSNBC has not independently confirmed the meeting. Neither Trump nor Musk, nor their representatives, responded to the New York Times for comment to this story. Rachel Maddow and the MSNBC panel react to reporting on Super Tuesday night. - Aired on 03/05/2024.

at the end of the day, he knows this much:

1. The money he gives will be the "down payment". Trump will ask for more.

2. The money he gives will not go to electing Trump or Republicans down ticket. It will go to his legal bills and to his judgments/bonds and to his attorneys and court fees, etc.

3. The money doesn't guarantee that Trump wins or anyone he wants to win.

4. Not a good look for Musk. Buying the WH. Oh sure, it's fine when it's Putin, but not an American billionaire.
