It's a crime that the our government has been stalled for this long. We made them a promise and need to follow through with all that was promised despite the Republicans. Lives and a nation depend on it.

(255,679 posts)Not that the Republicans care, back in the day a bill for Ukraine aid had already been passed, but TFG attempted to blackmail them into finding "dirt" on Biden's son before he agreed to send it - resulting in his first impeachment. And the Republicans of today aren't any better, the House just sent a bill for Israeli aid that they had to know would never pass the Senate and the president wouldn't sign. Meanwhile, innocent citizens are dying... And Ukraine was forced to wait again until the Republicans finally chose a Speaker.

(20,645 posts)I really appreciate his book on tyranny, as well as the Yale series on Ukrainian history that he gave recently. I think I got up to lecture 12. Wish I was able to stay on it, but it is fabulous series on YouTube.
Thanks again for all you do Rhiannon - you really do make DU a better place!

(255,679 posts)Not only Professor Snyder, but Professor Laurence Tribe and legal experts Andrew Weissmann, Neal Katyal and Glenn Kirschner. And I should also look into Timothy Snyder's offerings as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
And I do try to keep up. I've had computer issues recently, just got a new laptop which I'm hoping to have up and running sometime soon. Not to mention, DU.4 is an adjustment...
