And they knew beforehand that he was a rabid misogynist, homophobic, a Hitler fan and a holocaust denier.
The recent comments are just the latest in a long line.
Having grown up in the Deep South, I can tell you that his "Jews are after your children's Shekels" bit probably helped with local Republicans.

I got to know and became friends with most of them, senior citizens and liberals, and I can't imagine what they'd think of this guy, let alone what they'd have to say.
