1. I still don't understand why it would matter to the court....

...if he can't afford to post bond, he just doesn't post bond and everyone goes on to the step.

Why would the court care one way or the other?

2. Because he owes millions to the state - and the people - of New York. He didn't pay his taxes.

They keep talking to Susanne Craig of the New York Times because she and her team published a record long article of TFG's lifetime of tax evasion. Mary Trump helped with that since she had access to documents from the family attorneys. Think that was in 2018.

3. I guess what I'm asking is why would the court...

...even listen to his story about not being able to get a bond? That's his problem, not the court's problem.

If he doesn't post the bond by the dealine, the court just moves to the next step which I guess would be letting the state start taking posession of his stuff to cover the judgement.

Why did he bother writing a letter to the court explaining his money problems? And why would the court even bother reading it? Just move on to taking possession of his stuff.

4. I understand and agree, and Letitia James is not backing off or buying his excuses.

But what would she do with a heavily mortgaged office tower? She wants the cash.
