Related: About this forum"Perilous Moment": Iran Vows Revenge as Israel Expands Assassination Operations
This is one of the most perilous moments in the [Middle East] region in years, says Ali Vaez, director of the International Crisis Group Iran Project, after Israels assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday in Tehran. Iranian retaliation against Israel appears imminent. All bets are off, warns Vaez, adding that Israels latest maneuver will put Americans in harms way, as Iran will no longer hold back fellow Axis of Resistance members, especially Islamic militias in Iraq and Syria, from launching attacks on U.S. military bases in the region. It is disastrous for a superpower who cannot control, basically, a client state that is destabilizing the region, Vaez explains. We also hear from Palestinian human rights attorney Diana Buttu, who responds to Israels announcement that its July strike on al-Mawasi, an alleged safe zone in Gaza, killed Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif along with nearly a hundred civilians. Buttu argues it is Israels international impunity over the course of its campaign against Palestine that has led to this dangerous moment of escalation. This is a monster thats been unleashed, she says. This is going to spread, and this is exactly what Netanyahu wants.

so why stop now?
It's rapidly becoming the "tail wagging the dog" in regards to U.S. Israeli policy with indicted war criminal Netanyahu given the honor of a State of the Union speech, no doubt because this is election season and he knows it along with *rump and the rabid Reich.
At this point Netanyahu and his government feel they can do anything to anyone and get away with it, whether this be murder the chief cease fire/peace negotiator in the Iranian capital or kill journalists by the scores.

Biden must be all over this trying to keep things from escalating more.
Iran about to strike but there might not be as much support as last time.
