UNICEF spokesperson describes scenes inside Gaza hospital as 'death zone'

In detailing the scenes within Khan Younis's al-Nassar Hospital in Gaza, James Elder, UNICEF's global spokesperson, paints a grim picture. He describes children with severe injuries, mothers grieving over critically ill children, and an overall atmosphere resembling a death zone. Elder emphasizes the dual threat faced by children: the immediate danger of Israeli air strikes and the looming risk of disease due to inadequate water, protection, and sanitation. He expresses concern about the potential for a significant number of children succumbing to these conditions. Since the conflict's onset, over 6,000 children have lost their lives in Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Hamas members the IDF has killed in the over 15,000 dead Palestinian total? What a disgrace to humanity. I am sick over this.
Yes, Hamas is bad. But when will the killing of innocents end?

had been killed.

I've read Hamas estimates as having about 20,000-25,000 members.

So at this rate in order to eliminate or wipe out Hamas, the death toll from bombings, shootings, disease, dying of thirst or starvation would need to reach about 150,000 give or take 50,000 people of which 60-70 thousand will be children.

I don't believe that it's possible to militarily eliminate Hamas.

I believe the misery and animosity created from Netanyahu's mass punishment, long term strategy of containing or "wiping out Hamas" both before and after October 7th has done nothing but create fertile recruiting grounds for them.

The only solution; short of a final one, is a political solution.
