Rachel Maddow shares reporting from the New York Times that billionaire Timothy Mellon, a top donor to Donald Trump's reelection efforts, gave the U.S. government $130 million to pay military salaries while Trump's Republicans in Congress keep the federal government shut down.
At the same time, Donald Trump's mission of destroying the White House and remaking it in his vulgar image includes paving over gardens designed by Mellon's stepmother, Bunny Mellon, in order to turn it into a patio reminiscent of outdoor dining at a California Pizza Kitchen. - Aired on 10/27/2025.
