It's not so hard to be optimistic based on real data (not increasingly unreliable early polls). I wish there were more like Rosenberg in the Democratic foxhole. And no, I'm not saying there's no work to be done. I'm saying I'm not a scaredy-crat.

it's been awful quiet out here in the culture war. i expect to see heavy action in the new year . we are vulnerable on immigration, and some of our project for justice and equality (they call it "woke&quot might be a little ahead of schedule.

but i feel great for 2024, not so much about my own forlorn state but that maybe people everywhere are becoming "woke."

It's the threats and attacks from deluded Republicans that worry me and the devious actions from Republicans in Congress, like their so called "impeachment" plans and the ridiculous lies that they spread. Without their interference I'd think our chances would be excellent - that's why it's essential to spread the word about the positive accomplishments of our most experienced president in history and the terrific job that he's done to clean up the mess he was left with - but he needs more time to finish the job. Not to mention that he's facing a disgraced twice impeached quadruple indicted opponent facing 91 criminal charges - and his trials in four jurisdictions during the coming year are bound to make breaking news.

Don't want the term to catch on like an another unfortunate usage, namely "bedwetting" sometimes used in conjunction with Democratic. Of course that one was promptly seized on by the opposition and the punditry.
Other than that minor point, good comment. The stakes could not be higher.

He'd be just one step away from Power.
