Fmr. IMF Deputy Director: If Trump continues unpredictable tariff policy, 'countries will step back' - Velshi - MS NOW

Trump's up-and-down tariff policy has not, so far, yielded the global economic disaster many feared, but it has contributed to a state of tension and uncertainty.

Former International Monetary Fund Deputy Director Mohamed El-Erian tells Ali Velshi that "the trading system needs a certain amount of predictability" to function. He also warns that tariffs could lead to worsening inflation, noting that, if duties remain high, companies are "going to pass more through to the consumer." - Aired on 12/27/2025.
