'A form of nonviolent protest:' St. Paul Council VP on neighborhood rapid response teams - Velshi - MS NOW

As Minnesotans respond to and resist the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, "rapid response" groups have organized to keep an eye out for federal agents and alert their neighbors.

St. Paul City Council Vice President Hwa Jeong Kim, who volunteers as a part of one such group, says that "our main goal is to observe" and that "we know our streets and our neighbors the best." Kim says she views the group's work as "a form of nonviolent protest" to hold the federal government accountable. - Aired on 02/01/2026.

Velshi is trying to help. He said on air that the arrest of Don Lemon has motivated him significantly about doing his job and not backing down.

Hats off to both in the interview.
