1. I was very struck by her choice of the word 'archipelago' to describe the network of huge prisons Trmp wants built.

It's an obviously meticulously considered reference to Solzhenitsyn's "The Gulag Archipelago", a history of the USSR's forced labor camps, where many Soviet citizens who made the mistake of speaking up ended their lives.

Soviet-style terrorization of the whole population really is the goal of Trmp's buildout. He wants everyone too terrified to object to anything he does. He has no higher goal of any kind, no program to improve the country. He just wants to be Tsar.
