Placing get rid of poor people in the same conversation as grooming minors for casting calls lays bare an elite mindset that treats human beings as commoditiesand the vulnerable as stock to be used.

(11,095 posts)How do you "get rid of poor people"?
You start by eliminating multi-billionaires. Taxes and incentives to divest of holdings that are not being used beyond personal enrichment are an affront to god and man at the levels we see now. There is nothing that should allow for individuals to bankrupt the nation by gaming the system and abusing the public trust. MAKE. THEM. PAY. No discounts, no carried interest. No more private armies to strike fear in the people and arrest the 'other'... no more.
Then, when you run out of them, you eliminate billionaires.
Then, if you STILL have poor people to "get rid of", you eliminate centi-millionaires.
You do this at the same time that you tax all corporations for the costs of all infrastructure and social costs of their businesses.
Toxic waste generated? They clean it FIRST, then claim 'profits'...
Roads and bridges stressed by shipping needs? They fix them or pay into a superfund to finance the maintenance and upkeep of the roads, bridges, airports and seaports. THEN they claim profits...
The bottom-line is this - we are not 'broke', we do not have a resource problem, we are not destitute - IF (and this is the big IF)... IF we collectively wake up and take control of the government, the military and re-establish public media as a primary and inviolate source of information and actual debate on how to proceed. We have a massive access and distribution issue.
No more billionaires alone would solve about half of the problems right away.
When billionaires no longer rule to world, the people will be better off for it.
How can we save the poor? I would offer up Bezos, Gates, Musk, and all the rest as kindling for the ultimate Bonfire of the Vanities...
