This affects him in no way. It doesn't affect the GOPs. It doesn't affect his supporters. Allies have already moved on.

The damage is already done. He can only do more damage. That is all he wants to do. He has surrounded himself with and appointed people who will protect and defend his criminality.

This is on us. In the streets. In the supermarkets. In the schools. In the churches.

This is a government of, by, and for white supremacist criminals.

I had been so angry with them. Now I'm just heartbroken. My dearly departed mother's siblings. I've stopped speaking to them. Even if it is the mundane, day to day family news and celebrations. Not to punish them. It is for self preservation. My parents were liberal/progressive politically.

My mother, I'm sure, would be saddened by my avoidance, but understand. If we all survive this, once the dust settles, perhaps there can be a rebuilding of relationships, changed but with a core of love, or its ghost at least. I can't see turning my back on them in need, but I can't see reaching out to them.

Which is a dilemna because they hold a lot of family history and are my sole connection to what I've yet to learn of my Mother's story. That which I want to share with my daughters who will turn 18 and 21 this Spring.

But before I ramble further, we only have each other. Too many of our leaders are in "every man for himself" mode.
