1. Seems to me. if you donste energy to the grid...you should get paid for it.

I apparently donate 500KW watts per month to the grid. For that energy contribution. I pay a $35.00 hook-up fee monthly. seems like I'm helping my utility from having to make future substantial energy investments in new infrastructure.
