Justice Department issues "bombshell" Epstein announcement - Brian Tyler Cohen

Summary of Democracy Watch Excerpt

This excerpt discusses a major revelation about the Jeffrey Epstein files that were supposed to be released by the Trump administration's Department of Justice.

Key Points:

The Cover-Up Revealed:
- The DOJ was required by federal law to release Epstein files by December 19th, 2025
- A new court filing reveals the DOJ is sitting on 2 million documents that haven't been reviewed or produced
- Only 12,000+ documents have been released so far
- This means the DOJ has released only 0.6% of the records, withholding 99.4%

Timeline Issues:
- Attorney General Pam Bondi requested all files be delivered to her by February 28th (last year)
- The administration claimed they had "400 lawyers working over Christmas" to process documents
- Legacy media initially reported the DOJ was making good progress on releases

Political Context:
- Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law
- Trump was reportedly a friend of Epstein's with documented communications
- Dan Bongino, who joined the FBI promising accountability, recently resigned to return to podcasting after being part of this alleged cover-up

Concerns Raised:
- The law may have lacked proper enforcement mechanisms or sanctions for non-compliance
- Speakers suggest the Epstein files may be influencing many administration policy and personnel decisions
- They call for litigation from victims, Congress members, or journalists to compel faster release

Not DOJ leaks. Epstein's estate & other agencies have the same material. They've provided it to Congress members. ChicagoTeamster Yesterday #4

To force the release of files that clear the smears but would also validate incriminating information from the leaks. Do it strategically over time. Drag Trump and any big R or D or billionaire or head of state (US or Foreign) through public exposure from now through the midterms.

Epstein’s estate executor/counsel turned over all docs found in his mansion to his victim’s lawyer(s)? They have the hot potato, why not take it public? What a tempest in a teapot as DOJ will find new troves of docs as long as needed to delay delay delay anything substantive coming out.
This whole charade left & right is akin to an ostrich hiding its nose in the sand. Nothing to see here, keep spinning the wheel!

And to journalists. If DOJ won't comply give them something true along with something worse but maybe not so true so they need to provide an answer for it. Include evidence on rich friends so that they'll lean on Trump admin to release the Epstein files to counter the speculative stuff. Releasing little by little means they'll still be dealing with this as we go into the midterms unless they want to release it all now so they have time for damage control.
