Related: About this forumTrump caught pulling the ultimate Epstein stunt - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen
BTC: The Justice Department has released 1% of the Epstein files, which is why Republicans are demanding accountability from the Clintons. This is just another day.
Sadly, in 2026, many Americans are struggling with affordability. Groceries are more expensive than they were a year ago. The cost of housing is going up and healthcare premiums are skyrocketing. But thankfully, Republicans are laser focused on solutions.

NBC News Host: House Oversight Committee says it will seek to hold former President Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress for failing to show up today for a deposition in his Jeffrey Epstein probe.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Yes, I believe that's what they refer to as having your priorities in check. You know, maybe it's just me, but I'm noticing a pattern here where Republicans and the administration make a list of all the ways to help Americans who are hurting and then they promptly burn that list and do anything else.
People looking for that manufacturing boom to arrive. Did I hear bomb Venezuela? Americans want affordable healthcare. Pretty sure that you said invade Greenland. Citizens craving more civil discourse. Understood. Will start shooting some moms in the face. And dragging Bill Clinton up to Capitol Hill to testify is just another example.
(cut to video)
James Comer: With respect to the former president, he he did not show up today. Uh, one reason I think most Americans want President Clinton to answer some questions who are is because he visited the White House. Jeffrey Epstein visited the White House 17 times while Bill Clinton was president. I've been in Congress 9 years. I think I've been to the White House nine times in nine years.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Okay. Well, this sounds like a pretty passive-aggressive attempt by James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee at scoring an invitation to the White House.
And did you know that Jeffrey Epstein was also allowed to wear the Easter Bunny outfit while other members of Congress have been repeatedly denied the same courtesy? I mean, all I'm all we're asking for is some answers. But not only is Comer furious about being stood up by the Clintons, he's frankly dismayed at how long this has been going on.
(cut to video)
Comer: This is the amount of preparation that went into this deposition today. These were the questions that we were prepared to ask. We've communicated with President Clinton's legal team for months now, given them opportunity after opportunity to to come in to give us a day. And they continued to uh delay, delay, delay to the point to where we had no idea whether they're going to show up today or not.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Oh dear. Delaying for months. Y'all must be outright madder than a wet hen. I can't even imagine how you feel about the Department of Justice then since they delayed releasing the Epstein files for a year, completely missed their deadline, and at this point have only released less than 1% of the Epstein files. And since he hates delay more than anything, let's see the footage of James Comer condemning that delay from the DOJ. {scenic footage} That a boy Comer, country over party.
So Comer and his fellow Republicans put on a holier than thou show over Bill Clinton's refusal to testify. By the way, Hillary scheduled to testify tomorrow also refused. But in fact, Comer's entire press conference was the fulfillment of that prophecy as predicted in the letter the Clintons released today.
(cut to video)
Dana Bash: What we just saw from the chairman is precisely what was predicted in a very lengthy uh very hot statement that the former president and uh his wife, the former secretary of state and First Lady just released.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Uh small ask, but when you're reporting on a story involving accusations of sexual impropriety, could you maybe if possible, abstain from describing statements as hot?
{Porn music playing in background} Yes, the Clinton's letter was a hard push back that was dripping with contempt for what many see as a sweaty partisan witch hunt, baby.
But let's hear more from this sultry Clinton letter, shall we?
(cut to video)
CNN Reporter: They say, "Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences. For us, now is that time."
Dana Bash: So much in this letter because it's pretty long. You accepted the least from those who know the most, but demand the most from those who know the least."
(cut to studio)
BTC: Now, that has got to be the most poetic refusal to testify that I've ever heard. Aside, of course, from that time Robert Frost wrote that letter. The words are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have priorities to keep. So, come at me, bros, all you want, but I won't say a fucking peep.
And look, I'm not trying to let Bill Clinton off the hook here in any way. There are some extremely damning photos of the guy that deserve incredible scrutiny. And frankly, now that they're refusing to testify altogether, I find some of the Clinton's previous excuses for why they couldn't testify to be a little embarrassing. To quote one article, "The depositions were initially set for October, then pushed to December after Bill said he needed to attend a funeral."
Remember in high school when it was the day your book report was due, so you told your teacher you didn't have time to finish it because some distant relative sadly passed away when in reality you had yet to even read the book because you were too busy skipping school to go to the mall so that you could go to Spencers and check out the lava lamps and glow-in-the-dark posters? Turns out those excuses still work.
But Republicans don't actually care about accountability on the Epstein files because if they did, they wouldn't be continuing their 30-year quest to put Bill and Hillary in jail for whatever sticks, and they wouldn't be following the same playbook as the president.

CBS News Host: President Trump is calling on the FBI and the Justice Department to look into the relationships between Jeffrey Epstein and a number of prominent Democrats. The names on that list include Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, and many others. The president made that announcement in a social media post. He went on to accuse Democrats of trying to use the Epstein investigation as a way to deflect criticism on the government shutdown.

BTC: I'm no therapist, but I suppose if I were looking for a way to cope with a failing economy, accusations of fraud, and subverting the will of the people, I'd also project blame onto everyone else.
Here's the thing. Do I believe that people should comply with subpoenas? 100%. But do I also believe that this standard should be applied equally regardless of political party? Definitely. As a congressman from Ohio once famously said,

Jim Jordan: We're looking for equal treatment under the law.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Exactly, which made today's press conference with James Comer pretty interesting because as luck would have it, those congressmen standing with Comer who are downright livid over Bill Clinton's objection to testify are Representative Scott Perry of Pennsylvania and Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona.
And here's a fun factoid that probably won't grace the bottom of your Snapple cap. Perry and Biggs also formally objected to a subpoena from the House January 6 committee. And since James Comer is such a proponent of complying with congressional subpoenas, here's footage of him condemning this move from those members of his own party. {scenic footage}
Nonpartisan hero James Comer strikes again. And those two guys aren't even the only Republicans in the business of defying subpoenas. Remember this guy? {Jim Jordan}

CNBC News Host: The January 6th Committee is asking to interview Republican Congressman Jim Jordan.
Unidentified Guest: The committee is alleging that Jim Jordan had communications with then President Donald Trump on the day of January 6th and was also communicating with the White House between the 2020 election and the January 6th attack in what they say was an attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 election.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Jim Jordan was subpoenaed to testify on his involvement with January 6, but what excuse did this former wrestling coach use to wrestle his way out of appearing on Capitol Hill?
(cut to video)
Jim Jordan: The actions of the January 6th Committee, I believe, are a complete assault on Americans liberty.
(cut to studio)
BTC: Ah, yes. The actions of the January 6th Committee were the assault on American's liberty. You know, in kind of the same way that the actions of Harvey Weinsteins jury inflicted immeasurable harm on people.
If Republicans want to demand compliance and accountability and they're willing to threaten those who defy them with criminal prosecution, I'm all for it as long as they're prepared when the shoe is on the other foot. Because at some point, ideally sooner than later, Democrats are going to be in charge. And I think millions of Americans would love to hear some truthful testimony from every member of this administration. And if they don't testify, the DOJ should criminally prosecute them, especially as it relates to Epstein because remember

Jim Jordan: We're looking for equal treatment under the law.
(cut to studio)
BTC: And I can't tell you how much I look forward to that.
