Related: About this forumLet's talk about Trump's positions, Greenland preparing, and the 25th.... - Belle of the Ranch
Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump's positions, Greenland preparing, and the 25th.
As a very chaotic day starts to wind down, we've had two major developments that will probably be overlooked or blown off, and they probably shouldn't be. The first is as Trumpian as it gets, and it should be something that might even wake up some of his base if they're paying attention.
Name the two biggest competitors to the United States on the international stage? If you're being honest, whether you view them as opposition nations or even support them, your answer would probably be Russia and China. Geopolitically, they are the biggest competitors to US power and influence.
Now, name the two biggest tools of US foreign policy--institutions that came about as the US climbed to the top. One is absolutely a major tool of US foreign policy and the other, while not overtly a US tool, it's heavily influenced by it. NATO and the UN, right? Well, Trump shared a social media post that said the exact opposite. It said, "So, at what point are we going to realize the enemy is within? China and Russia are the boogeymen when the real threat is the UN, NATO, and this religion."
What's meant by this religion isn't immediately clear. The president of the United States has amplified a post calling the UN and NATO a threat and saying China and Russia aren't.
We have always been at war with East Asia, right? Let's be clear, the UN doesn't have troops and NATO is primarily our military might. While most are just writing this off as Trump being Trump and sharing what he feels at the moment, in normal times, this would signal either one of the most dramatic foreign policy shifts in American history, or it would signal that the president has lost the plot completely. People are preparing for both.
Greenland's prime minister seemed to indicate people might want to start preparing for a possible military invasion, saying, "It's not likely there will be a military conflict, but it can't be ruled out."
Meanwhile, back in the United States, a number of representatives, senators, and commentators are calling for Trump's Cabinet to exercise the 25th Amendment while major news outlets are bringing it up. Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts and Representative Yassamin Ansari of Arizona and Eric Swalwell of California started calling for it after he seemed to tie his actions regarding Greenland to his failure to receive a Nobel Peace Prize. The chorus is growing louder.
For those overseas are not up on the US Constitution the 25th Amendment allows for a president to be removed if the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Whether he's attempting to realign the US with East Asia or he's unfit, we're seeing reactions to Trump's erratic behavior all over the world and they aren't making America safer, more secure, or more economically stable.
Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.

That's the heart of the problem, right there.
They're amateurs at best, a bunch of fucking ignorant overgrown children at worst and I think we're starting to see them at threir worst.
Our best hope is a total rout of the GOP in November. At that point, Fatso and his team will declare martial law nationwide and try to dissolve both Congress and the court system. Those things will This will not work out well for them.
