We Went To South Texas: The Water Crisis Will Shock You - More Perfect Union

Corpus Christi, Texas, could be the first American city to run out of water. Working people face drought restrictions, but oil and gas companies guzzle water — and pay less than everyone else. Six huge corporate water users consume 3x as much as everyone in town.

It's texas, and has been under repuke control since the 1980s. What was once a solidly in the middle of liveability rankings in the 1970's and early 1980's, is now usually in the bottom five to ten, and some areas of the state are little better than some of the poorest countries in the world.

1. If you believe government can do no good, then no city or county will be able to effectively plan for this.
2. If your state is solely concerned with supporting "business", the rest of the population will suffer.
3. If you don't believe in environmental science, you will ignore climate change until it is too late

My bad. Texas has been in repuke control since the 1990s, not 1980's. Ann Richards was the last decent gov of Texas, and her term ended in 1995.
In 30 years it went from being an okay place to live, work, and maybe raise a family, to being a place you go when you don't have anywhere else to go.
