go after someone else on their marriage?

I don't know that I'd disqualify someone for one failed marriage, but it would come close. Two of them certainly says much about the person.

Maintaining a marriage says a lot about a person and it's an admirable character quality, especially if they want to lead. I've always liked how our last several Democratic Presidents had done well in this area...Biden (he was widowed, not divorced), Obama, Clinton, Carter, Johnson and Kennedy. Maybe it goes back further; I just didn't want to research it right now

2. Back in the day, it was a black mark against a candidate if they were divorced.

I remember hearing that criticism against Governor Rockefeller here in New York when I was a kid. And now we have TFG with not only three wives, but 91 criminal charges!

After all, mistakes happen. But, two of them, and I'm definitely curious about why a candidate couldn't keep together one of life's most important social structures TWICE. It reflects on a person's character. But, more than twice?!?! Well...do they lack judgment? Are they a cheater? Did they bail on kids?

4. Mary Trump said in her book that Junior didn't speak to his father for years after he left his mother

Guess he got over that. And, especially in TFG's case, it clearly speaks to his character - as well as his countless lies and crimes.

For me, this would factor more in a primary when when I've got multiple choices in a race, and I largely agree with all the candidates. It matters a lot then.

I wouldn't vote for a Reupublican over a Democrat with a multi-divorce issue. But, I did opt not to vote at all in a couple races when the Democrat had a problem here.

These days I mostly vote a straight Democratic ticket - and, considering the district I live in, I leave some races blank when Republicans are running unopposed. This is clearly not anyone's father's Republican party, it's now the party of TFG. And any Republican who opposes him has likely dropped out or switched parties.
