How should prosecutors+courts respond to Trump's promise of a "bloodbath" if he loses the election? - Glenn Kirschner

Donald Trump is on pretrial release in four felony cases. Donald Trump used inflammatory rhetoric to inspire and incite an attack on the US Capitol on January 6 to try to retain power. Now, Trump has ratcheted up his violent rhetoric, promising a "bloodbath" if he is not reelected.

In the criminal justice system, the law provides that if someone on pretrial release poses a danger to even a single person in the community, they should be revoked on release and detained pending trial.

Will prosecutors, the courts and the institutions of government receive Trump's latest violent rhetoric - signaling to his supporters that he expects them to respond with violence if he loses - with a shrug? Or will they protect the American people by applying the law as it is intended to be applied and detain him pending trial? - Glenn Kirschner - 03/17/2024.

....Earlier today I posted an OP questioning if there is anything that can be done by those responsible for public safety to stop trump from continuing to foment violence.

Here is that post: https://democraticunderground.com/100218784976

After a long day of discussion including some surprising DU member responses, I believe this video from Glenn Kirschner has answered that question. I have updated that OP with this video.

And the legal matters that we're now faced with in this country, which are unprecedented. And I sure agree, TFG is a serious danger to the American people with his threats and attempts to incite. Why he wasn't detained long ago is a mystery to me - his fellow Georgia co-defendant was denied bail for this threats and attacks on others. He was finally let out on bail and he persisted in his attacks so he was immediately incarcerated again. And TFG has persisted in much more dangerous behavior.

Not to mention, this legal expert agrees with what we believe and are hoping for - including Judge Cannon being replaced and TFG finally being "detained" for his attacks and attempts to incite his violent supporters - again!

Justice matters.

The Law needs to be acted upon if no one is truly above it.

The point is to protect judges, AGs, Congress members, generals and ordinary court staff from the threat of violence provokes by TFG - who is currently out on bail.
