Related: About this forumLast Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Trump's Project 2025
A summary of the limited damage of Trump's first term and his detailed plan of action for a second term, including limiting trans rights, promising mass deportations, requiring local law enforcement to use methods like "stop and frisk," cut funding for any school that has a vaccine or mask mandate, impose at least a 10% tariff on all imports, and get revenge on his "enemies" and who will be on the receiving end.
And a look the more than 100 conservative organizations making these plans for him and a summary of the damage they could do including dismantling NOAA, eliminating Head Start, installing a pro-life task force, defunding the DOJ, dismantling the FBI, eliminating the Departments of Education and Commerce, prohibiting pornography and imprisoning those who distribute it and making sure that they have the right people in place to implement these plans.
Note: This is a "bootleg" copy of the show - I regularly added one to the "official" version since it contains the entire show, which includes John Oliver's take on current news, but for the several weeks they haven't uploaded the "official" version until later in the week. It won't last long, as usual.

oliver does so much for those local communities, in this case the bakery and food bank but every week he seems to do something.

my fave lately has been franken. maybe a little dry for some, but obviously a "professor" of the comedic arts.

(255,843 posts)And if you mean Al Franken, I was able to see him when his National Tour Tour came to my area (Albany, NY) a couple of years ago. He spoke for about 2 hours to a sold out crowd using only a microphone, a stool and 3 glasses of water and I don't remember him using the stool or the water - and he got a standing ovation at the end. He also drew one of his free hand sketches of the 50 states while he was speaking and offered to sign it and donate it to a local Democratic charity.

(5,835 posts)he actually knows these issues and politicians up close and personal, and seems to have "gotten out " before he became corrupted.

(255,843 posts)And you're right, he not only knows his politics, but knows so many of his fellow senators personally - though I remember he frequently had his own Rep., Gerry Nadler, on his show. During his stage show he did impressions (McConnell), told jokes about others (Ted Cruz) and said that while his committee was waiting, Dianne Feinstein would ask him to tell a joke and then the others would argue whether they "got it."

that station was bought by "clear channel" and air america became another conservative echo chamber.
5 am pbs is playing "carmen" in the next room. i kinda like it. if these jerks get to defund or privatize or corrupt pbs what would be on? another infomercial?
Rhiannon12866
(255,843 posts)And PBS has been on for decades. I was even on a short-lived show on the local PBS channel when I was in 10th grade. It was produced, directed, written and performed by local high school students.
