On November 18, 1978, over 900 members of the Peoples Temple cult died in a mass murder-suicide in Jonestown, Guyana. They consumed a cyanide-laced drink made with Flavor Aid, not (Kool-Aid) as is often incorrectly reported.

The tragic event resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Someone I know and love wonders if Trump's cult will be so faithful and make the ultimate sacrifice on the day that he's sent to prison.

The important thing is that some people willingly hand over their God given right to critical thinking and self determination to some individual like Jim Jones. Or David Koresh. Or D. J. Trump. Or Charles Manson.

All people who us normal people would describe as dangerously weird and unpredictable.

The dead at Jonestown, Guyana willingly drank the poisoned Flavor Aid.
How far are the Trump cultists prepared to go on the say-so of their leader?

are driven by anger and self-concern. For that very reason, they see THEMSELVES in Trump.

The LAST thing Trump would do is harm himself.

Nor would his followers willingly do so.
