Did Kate Cox Expose GOP Plan To Turn Women into Property? - Thom Hartmann

The saga of Kate Cox in Texas is making it clear to every American that GOP opposition to abortion isn’t just about abortion: it’s ultimately about controlling every aspect of women’s bodies and lives. - Aired on 12/14/2023.

Evangelicals have taken over the GQP and quite a few of them preach that women should be
seen and not heard, men are in charge of everything, women are to be subservient. etc

10. This is basically a reflection of the phrase, "barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen".

This is an incredibly evil attitude toward woman.

7. Yes. They intend to return women to third class status, i.e., chattel property of males.

They intend to enact laws that will strip them of all the hard fought and well earned rights that they have achieved.
I believe the reason Paxton, et al are working so furiously hard to slam back at Cox has everything to do with her having the (apparent) financial wherewithal to be able to take this to court (and win) and then immediately leave the state to have an emergency abortion to save her life in another state. They want to render women (and their partners) powerless to exert control over every aspect of their lives, even if (and, perhaps because) it means endangering their very existence.

8. An example of this is in the new 5th season of Fargo, playing on the FX channel, catch it on demand.

9. I've been using the phrase, "reproductive slavery" for some time now.

Every day the Republicans do something that makes it more real.
Unfortunately, the 13th Amendment has language that could be twisted by Republicans to justify such action:

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

The hitch is in making a woman a convicted criminal prior to having an abortion. Sort of like a thought crime, or "pre-crime" situation. I wouldn't put it past them.
