I could certainly support that, his main interest has always been politics, but with humor

From The Daily Show, to his previous own show to now on The Late Show. I remember one time when he spoke about taping his monologue when there was breaking news - think it was the initial meeting between TFG and Kim Jong Un - so he scrapped his written monologue and ad libbed the rest.

And I have seen Al Franken perform in person. He said that at first he tried eliminating the jokes, but it got so that if his committee was waiting, Dianne Feinstein would ask him to tell a joke. Though he said that this often caused arguments since not everybody "got it."

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
