Unity and sanity, those two mirages in the American political desert that Democratic Presidents and presidential contenders have been hallucinating about since 2009.

have been hallucinating about?

Those "two mirages" are aspirational qualities of the future that Democrats actualize to move the country toward, imo.

That Newsom fights fire with fire is no contradiction, and I expect to donate to him when he announces he's running for president.

Don't you believe Joe Biden was right when he said
a) "America is an idea" and
b) "We have already proved there's nothing, nothing we can't accomplish when we do it together" ?

I can't get with the negativity I'm seeing toward the party around here.

and whose weak minds dwell in information bubbles of fear and hatred.

We’ve tried kumbayah and lost two of three times to Donald Frigging Trump, a malignant narcissist whose only loss is considered a fraud by 80 percent of his voters.

We are living in a time of madness; we’re not going to meet the moment with platitudes. Please be realistic.

not feelin' the parts about kumbayah. There were real objective on-the-ground reasons why we lost.

So for the last eight months the objective experience of madness is, first, that of the loyal 23% who voted for him; and second, madness of the corporate RW press that normalize, legitimize and amplify fear, doubt and ignorance; third, the madness of the felon's un/elected toadies. All three of those populations suck up their suffering as the pathological felon's only rule is his spectacle of menace.

If it isn't sane and unifying to take action -- which Newsom, TX Democrats, congressional Democrats, NY and IL governors and our affiliate networks do -- then I don't know what is.
