(258,808 posts)Anyone else would be found in contempt and if they persisted they'd be detained - as TFG agreed to with Judge Chutkan.

(27,703 posts)I used to believe there was such a thing as no one is above the law. I no longer believe it. We have all watched this man mock, disregard and abuse the system with no accountability. I have supported the idea that justice has its own schedule and we all want things done quickly the people in charge know what theyre doing and all that..that is now on shaky ground, too. Im patiently waiting and watching so my belief system can be restored

(258,808 posts)Some have even done their time and have been released. But their "leader" who called them all there is still on the loose, holding rallies and spewing lies intended to incite others. And then there's the classified documents case. TFG had thousands of stolen classified documents piled in boxes in his numerous bathrooms and showers. Air Force vet Reality Winner stole one classified document and was convicted and served over four years in prison - and she's far from the only case. Yet TFG stole thousands and we knew that he shared them with others - how many years should he get if the law treats everyone equally??

So attempting to retrial the issue of liability, when the court has held that he cant, would be an abuse of the judicial system.

(25,126 posts)The trial just ended. The judge made a summary judgment against Trump at the trials outset because the documented evidence of persistent fraud was over-whelming. The prosecutor is seeking $370 million in damages but the judge could increase that penalty.
This case, when its finished, has the possibility of putting Trump out of business in New York. It will severely stretch his financial condition. The case has the potential to be a seriously major blow to Trump and his family business.
Every court case that goes against Trump is good for our country. They expose his criminality to the world. So much winning! I love it.
