Senate GOP Blocks Whitehouse Effort to Undo Looming Half-Trillion Dollar Cut to Medicare - Senator Sheldon Whitehouse
September 18 - Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) took to the Senate floor to request unanimous consent to pass his resolution to protect Medicare from automatic cuts resulting from Republicans’ Big, Beautiful-for-Billionaires law. Senate GOP Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) blocked the passage of this resolution.
