Considering that Lovett is part of the LGBT community, I wish that he had shown more sensitivity and avoided the word.

I haven't listened to the video yet so I can only hope that he was referring to a female dog with the comment, but I doubt it.

3. I don't actually know who this person is, have never listened to his podcast.

Even if he was referencing a female dog, that statement makes no sense. And, of course, echoes a certain figure who uses that phrase repeatedly.

He is also part of Crooked Media which carries Pod Save America. Like I said, the thumbnail is a clunker so maybe it will be an educational opportunity?
