Let the record of republican hearings show Martin Luther King was righteous and right:
"nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. "
Thanks for posting the Meidas Network news! I'm praying for a huge youth demographic turnout in the midterms over this crap.

(248,098 posts)Are they out to annoy the Democrats or have they finally sunk to the level of their leader?? And how does this pointless rambling help constituents who can no longer afford health care and can't deal with the rising price of groceries?? They are nothing but an embarrassment!

We are the richest nation on earth with the least educated population on earth because the slave owning founders didn't make education a fundamental constitutional right. And now we see that 70% of Americans walk around with only 12 years of education.
This is what we're up against, and this is what we have to GOTV to fight.

(248,098 posts)But kids these days aren't getting an appropriate start. When I was in the grades "reading was fundamental" and encouraged. These days they ban books! And then there's history and Civics - when I was in school I had a teacher who covered the Civil Rights Movement. I can't imagine that is encouraged these days. The way things are going, that would require starting over. Instead they want to hang the 10 Commandments on the walls. If parents want to send kids to Sunday School, it should be their choice.

(42,711 posts)Don't get me started on the state of the nation's public schools, which have been defunded, deformed, stigmatized and privatized -- all by design by the top 1%. They don't want competition for their progeny, and so across three generations education has only been preserved by the taxpayers who value it. I've been fighting against this trend since I began teaching high school and college in the 70's.
Education is the foundation of all of civilization. But the rich see this country as their corporate project. Thus, Project 2025.
