The Florida Blowout of the GOP in 2025: Why this is important

brief analysis by on the ground stats...7 minute video...

In Eileen Higgins’s race, the City of Miami mayoral runoff, she — a Democrat — won with 59.5 % to the Republican’s 40.5 %. In the same batch of runoffs, several other local seats changed hands or were won by competitive margins: for example, in Miami Beach City Commission Group 1 seat, a Democrat-leaning candidate (Monica Matteo‑Salinas) won 71 % to 29 % in a race with voter turnout around 18 %. This reinforces a trend nationally against the GOP.
