2. I'm so glad I had measles as a kid (and did not suffer any lasting effects.

The same goes for my husband. We grew up long before there was anything such thing as the MMR vaccine and had to take our chances with whatever was going around at school. I've had both measles and rubella, but not mumps. Some kids at my school had mumps, but it skipped over me. If there's never a major outbreak of mumps I could be in trouble, but fortuately it's not as ragingly contagious as measles.

People who don't get vaccinated are awful, and those who don't get their kids vaxxed are the worst. I hate it that little kids have to suffer just because their parents are stupid.

Conveniently for those parents, most of them were probably born after the MMR was out and got vaxxed as kids. So they're fine with their kids getting this disease that they think is "harmless" because they never experienced it or saw anyone else experience it. Bully for them.
