He just makes up numbers

He said just now that 38,000 people died building the Panama Canal. It was really 5600. He’s such a huckster. “ 5600 doesn’t sound like enough. I’ll just multiply at times roughly seven.”

Upwards of 30,000 or more. Many more were injured (amputations, etc.).

But, the question - why does Trumpie care? Most were contract workers from the Caribbean treated as 2nd class citizens by the US.
