The "Sound of Silence" from leaders is going to get us all killed.

Last edited Tue Sep 16, 2025, 12:58 AM - Edit history (1)

While lie after lie after lie is spread about “radical left wing terrorists”
Which, by the way DO NOT EXIST

Who is calling out the lies on the big stage?
As far as I can tell, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Joe needs to take care of Joe.
And sincere best wishes for his health.

Expect zero from most media.

Party and dignitaries with clout are not standing up to this false and illegal barrage of direct threats
illegal under accepted interpretation of the first amendment.

And the Democratic party leadership?
NADA, ZILCH, ZIP, NIL, BUPKIS, RIEN
You’re as useless as bowling shoes at an ice rink.

^^^^^^^ Now is the time for the party to come to the aid of all good men. ^^^
And women and others.

Don’t wait for divine intervention. It ain’t happening.

So-called leaders.
Read this and get off your lame asses.
AND CALL OUT THE LIES FORCEFULLY AND REPEATEDLY
Or we all lose ours.

They must be expecting someone else to do the heavy lifting. Thom Hartmann wanted the party to buy 1,000 radio stations. Then paid shills could shill 24-7 letting Washington politicians have time to relax

4. I would hope that leaders at the very least make statements affirming general principles.

The don't have to be attacks. They don't have ro be timely. Just put in a good word for the principles that guided the country for hundreds of years.

Point out real enemies instead of 1984 phantoms.

Bernie's practically doing it alone, it seems.

It makes the nazis look unchallenged, when there are so few making them accountable. A docile opposition is exactly what they want.

I WANT FIGHTERS.

He put his future political life on the line with Proposition 50.

And President Obama could be playing basketball but he is still working for us.

Since you first wrote this ICE has started detaining and killing US citizens and the US has kidnapped Maduro and threatened Iran and Greenland. NATO may be dissolved as a result. Yet the silence from Democratic leaders continues. Actually, I am not sure if they are silent or the news simply won't discuss or publish anything they are saying. The representative from Oregon spoke in Congress for 22 hours straight, yet I never saw anything in my news feed, or media.

I am so proud of the protesters in Minneapolis. At least they are getting into the news.
It's now 3pm Jan 20. I wonder how many people walked out of work in protest? and will that make the news?

9. The people are leading. I can't believe the lack of leadership among well-known party members. Must be crazy threats.

We have no Dr. King. No John Lewis ...

Best I've been able to come up with is Mark Cuban, mainly because he's not associated with the party (is this what we need?)
Maybe also Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors. With the injuries and draft clunkers going on there, I think he needs to elevate his own game.

Outspoken leaders (love them) are Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crockett, Elizabeth Warren, but they lack firepower. Gavin Newsom's recent backpedalling may be due to threats. We can't nominate his press secretary! (or can we?)

Maybe a military officer with guts to stare down threats.
And given recent performance, maybe an enlisted person.

I have been following Robert Reich on YouTube for quite a while. I think his videos are spot on and his explanations are so clear for any lay person to understand.

Here is his take of the lack of leadership in this country. In particular he calls out the powerful oligarchs in this country, but he also ends saying leadership is up to us, the common person. I definitely agree with him on the oligarchs. Even if we impeached Trump, we'd still have the same problems because the Oligarchs have the power in politics with their extreme wealth. They help politicians get elected and the politicians make the oligarchs richer and more powerful.

The campaign finance reform bill ALMOST passed. The late Senator John McCain pushed for it, in vain.

"Citizens United" is one of the most bogus court rulings ever (until now). It has to be overturned.
