Yavin4's JournalThe US has multiple generations with very, very different lived experiences
Add in our anti-social, isolated, car-dependent culture and a news media that only serves the very narrow interests of the capitalist elites, and you can clearly understand the reasons for a bitterly, politically polarized nation.
For example, for one entire generation of Americans, college (including elite colleges) was relatively affordable. Student loans were manageable. That generation has no lived experience of college being so expensive that it has indebted an entire generation. To that older generation, one could work their way through college by waiting tables part time. For most colleges today, that's impossible.
I could offer other examples on healthcare, housing, income, etc., and I could offer hard data supporting my analysis, but unless it confirms the lived experience of a generation, it would be dismissed out of hand.
This is not to demean anyone's particular generation. Poverty and struggle transcends time. But, the data shows that the baby boomer generation had a much, much easier time going to college, starting careers, buying houses, and accumulating wealth than successive generations have had. Again, not saying that EVERY boomer had it easy, but on average, they've had it easier than Millennials and Zoomers.

Fun fact. The Seaborn visualization library was named after the West Wing character, "Sam Seaborn".

I'm not able to Tweet. Says I'm over daily limit.
Haven't tweeted anything since yesterday. My conspiracy side is saying that the Republicans are getting hammered after Joe's speech last night, and they want to tone things down.
