Restaurant closing - The Homeplace in Catawba VA - A staple on the Appalachian Trail.

Adults $14 for two meats $15 for three. Ham roast beef chicken.
This was a fueling station for the trail, a great place for people to talk while waiting, and this place was run by really good people.
Over many years my table has picked up several checks for tables of people who clearly came off the trail.

'We sadly have been hit hard’: The Homeplace Restaurant in Catawba closes indefinitely

https://www.wsls.com/news/local/2020/10/13/the-homeplace-restaurant-in-catawba-closes-indefinitely/

Phones are ringing off the hook at The Homeplace Restaurant in Catawba. But after this Sunday, and 38 years in business, there won’t be anyone picking up.

The family-run business made the tough call to close for the rest of the year, making the announcement on Facebook Monday night.

“It’s very hard," said general manager Kevin Wingate. "Again, we don’t take it lightly.”

Management cited the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on local businesses, saying, “We sadly have been hit hard.” Efforts to reopen inside dining with social distancing measures in place weren’t bringing in enough business, according to management.

I just drove for 9 hours. Ask me anything.

Whew.

Northwest Georgia to Richmond. 535 miles. 3 stops and two traffic jams.

Early morning driving by the Smoky Mountains was pretty cool.

At the very end we were about 20 miles from Richmond and we see taillights. We’d just had to take an alternate route due to an incident on Afton mountain. There’s a semi in a ditch. Tow truck is there. We see the tow guy waving to the State Trooper who must have been in their car. A few minutes later I look in the rear view and there’s nothing behind us on 64. No one. We and the car behind us must have been the last ones to get through before the trooper shut off traffic for the tow truck. Oh that would have been brutal.

So we are home. The medical situation seems to have stabilized. Whew.

I Was Brainwashed by the Liberal Media. Then I Saw a Video of a Man Ranting Alone in a Truck

https://thehardtimes.net/blog/i-was-brainwashed-by-the-liberal-media-then-i-saw-a-video-of-a-man-ranting-alone-in-a-truck/

I saw what appeared to be a thumbnail of a man talking to his phone while driving by himself. Naturally, I was intrigued and clicked on it. Before my very eyes this lone driver proved to me that the Clintons and the Obamas were responsible for every mass shooting in the last 10 years. He proved that they got away with it because all of the other liberals were too busy complaining about their latte orders at Starbucks. And he did it all without stating a single fact or citing a single source.

And imagine my shock to find he wasn’t alone! YouTube began directing me to a whole world of other men with deliberate hat choices and Oakley sunglasses breaking down what’s really going on in this country. It was like learning I was in The Matrix and there was more than one Morpheus! Also, Morpheus is white!

In fact, I don’t trust the political opinion of anyone who isn’t simultaneously driving a truck or some sort of automobile. If you are sitting behind a desk, you have been compromised.

So please, subscribe to my channel. Learn about how lesbians and Black Lives Matter were responsible for last year’s California wildfires. I would explain it here, but for some reason when I write it out it sounds completely fucking insane. Just watch the video.

I think Trump will surprise some people tonight.

I’ve watched a couple of fairly recent interviews and he was vastly different than we normally see. If he acted this way at all in 2020 things could be a lot different, aside from the complete clustertrump failure.

With Mark Levin in September he was reserved and seemed comfortable.
On Tucker he had a virtual office visit with the same Doctor, Siegel, he did the Man Woman Person Camera TV thing. He was again, well, sort of human. He talked like it was a normal conversation. There was no bombast or name calling.

He knows what this chance means. It’s not what the cult is looking for but I think he knows that that isn’t his audience tonight.

Obama Does Pod Save America, Doesn't Even Admit He Did Obamagate, Which Is The Biggest Crime

https://www.wonkette.com/obama-does-pod-save-america-doesnt-even-admit-he-did-obamagate-which-is-the-biggest-crime

Obama said a big question after the election, IF things go well, is whether Republicans will once again find some sense of norms that you don't breach under any circumstances HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Barry, you are the cutest.

He said in a Biden presidency, we're going to have to "change some of these structural impediments to just getting stuff done," specifically saying we need to kill the filibuster and make it "easier for people to vote" and "harder to suppress the vote." And if Republicans don't like it? See above where we noted that the Republican Party is no longer an American party.

And why? Because fuck 'em is why.

(Obama didn't say that, Wonkette said that.)
