The Republicans shot the entire country in the foot.

They wanted a global empire. But you can't have one with an incurious, disengaged chief executive (I'm looking at you, Reagan, Bush Jr. and Trump...)

They wanted a huge, globe-spanning military. But they wanted a teeny-tiny government, just small enough to drown in a bathtub. But you can't have that without risking an attempt to render the military independent of, and superior to, the civil power.

We have lost global relevance. And we're headed for banana republic status.

There's a sudden, unexplained upsurge in the number of anti-vaxxers coming in to the clinic.

I'm running out of polite ways to say "My patients get their vaccines, or they get another primary care provider".



If they hate and distrust medical science so much, what motivates them to come in to the clinic in the first place?
